I try to keep the trilogy cheaper than buying books 2 and 3 together, so even if you'd prefer to buy just the first novel, Trespass, you can still save money on the next 2 novels by buying the full set.Search for "Darkeningstone Trilogy" and save money.
Breaking Ground is the perfect read for fans of A.G. Riddle, Kate Mosse, Barbara Erskine, and Rysa Walker. And if you're fan of Dr. Who, we'll get along just fine. Adults enjoy the rich plot and teenagers, young adults, and new adults particularly like the story's fast pace. There are elements of historical fiction, science fiction, fantasy, and time travel in this free book - along with a good measure of suspense and a side-order of thrills. Please note that this free book is approx 12,000 words long - it's a gripping, fast-paced, quick read. It's a taster of my work - a bonus story. It isn't an episode and it can be read before or after the full-length Darkeningstone novels. There are three full-length novels in the Darkeningstone series. Reading order Trespass Outcast Scaderstone Pit. There will only be three Darkeningstone novels - unless the Shades tell me otherwise.Breaking Ground A Tale of Supernatural Suspense Mikey Campling Jason Whited Books
All of the following books are well written short stories can be read in one evening, except The Wall, which is a full length story broken into parts.Breaking Ground - A well written, interesting short mystery - SciFi. This prequel should be read before Trespass. Included is the first four chapters of Trespass.
Continue? - A well written, short, interesting SciFi story that should be read after the story Cheatcode.
The Wall - Cliffhanger! Other than being incomplete, The Wall is a well written, interesting SciFi with the usual troublemakers and good people; intelligent vs emotional. I would have enjoyed this snippet better if it had been complete.
A Good Read - Five well written short stories that are gloomy, filled with sadness and bad luck. Included are the first six chapters of Trespass and the first five chapters of Cheatcode.
After Dark - A well written "horror" short story that keeps the reader glued to the pages. My favorite from this author.
The God Machine - A well written, interesting short SciFi written by four authors.
Changes - Four well written short stories that are interesting and quickly read.

Breaking Ground A Tale of Supernatural Suspense Mikey Campling Jason Whited Books Reviews
This book grabbed then held my attention. I like the way the story is told. A young boy in present day doing what young boys do best - looking for an adventure finds a piece of history and the past is revealed in layers. I am anxious to read more works by Mikey Campling.
Absolutely hooked. To answer Mike's question So much is wound up in the characters and their surroundings, I think just about every essential detail was covered.
From the first scene I imagined the beginning of Prometheus, the Alien prequel, where the Engineer disintegrated and left his DNA for the next era of life.
Getting that much context put of a few pages. Mission accomplished!
Not Unlimited, must have gotten it on freebie day.
Odd story, but then a lot of Campling's are, just check out his list to confirm that, though I don't have to since have read quite a bit of his. Supernatural aspects in this one. Too many books to list {most are series, so 2 or 3 books, also some in sets}
I received this book as a free read for an honest review. I am glad I did for it was a really interesting story, after I understood the yearly changes, it was really a good read. I plan on reading the rest of the books. I just love a good mystery and I bet you will want to keep reading.
I love a good historical mystery, even when the history is fictional, as it is here. This mystery involves an artifact located in a stone quarry, first found by man several thousands of years ago. The three stories in this first book are obviously related to this stone and to each other, although the details are skillfully concealed. I am intrigued, and I must read more of this. Luckily for me, I have the second book in hand.
I was gifted my copy of this book by the author, and I’m glad of that. I might never have found it with casual browsing. It’s not always easy to find good mysteries outside of the crime genres. If you’re any kind of mystery fan, I recommend that you give this book a try.
Interesting introduction to a series which uses short narratives to describe the various worlds touched upon in the series which follows. There is an offer to download the next book free from the author's website at the end. Unfortunately for me, though the download seemed to go fine my paperwhite just seemed to lose the document. I may try again on my older kindle which doesn't seem to suffer from the kind of creeping featurism of the newer products. As for the short stories, they are ambitious in concept and well executed. I was completely thrown into each time period as I tried to make the connections between them in my mind. I found the concept original and it makes a compelling read on its own while teasing the series without being a true prequel.
This short work is an introduction to Mr. Campling's Darkening Stone novels. As an introduction, the story does not reach a real conclusion but the author offers the first novel in the series, Trespass, free. Trespass is also free via Unlimited which is how I read it. Be warned, the story of the Darkening Stone is addictive. Campling is a fine author, developing his characters and his story with expertise. I am adding him to the authors I follow.
